Six lessons on telling family, friends and colleagues as much or as little as you choose, with words ready for the question at the family table and for the people who ask about the treatment itself.
Six lessons. One short sentence. A subject you get to keep to yourself.
Somebody always asks. It comes at the family table, or in a work kitchen, or from a friend who has noticed the plate. The question is rarely unkind and it is almost never well timed, and having no answer ready is what makes it land badly.
This course settles it in advance. You decide who hears what, write one short sentence for the family table, work out how to tell a partner or a grown child without opening a debate, and find a way to close the subject kindly with a colleague in a corridor. Nothing here asks you to explain yourself to anybody.
Women in the first months: who have not yet decided what to say.
Anyone in a close family: where a smaller plate gets noticed at once.
Women at work: asked about it between meetings and over lunch.
